About Us:
Opal Personnel is currently working with a well-established, 24-hour veterinary hospital in Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom, who are looking for a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on a permanent basis. The clinic prides itself on delivering high-quality emergency and critical care with a compassionate approach. Their state-of-the-art facility offers a wide range of services, including emergency surgery, diagnostics, and overnight in-patient care.
The Role:
As a Night Veterinary Surgeon, you will play a crucial role in delivering emergency and critical care to patients outside of regular working hours. You will work in a well-equipped, modern environment with access to advanced diagnostic tools and receive support from an experienced veterinary nursing team throughout the night.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, treat, and manage emergency cases, including trauma and critical illness
- Perform routine and complex emergency surgical procedures
- Provide overnight care and monitoring for in-patients
- Communicate clearly with pet owners about treatment plans and updates
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Handover cases to the daytime veterinary team to ensure continuity of care
Requirements:
- Degree in Veterinary Medicine
- Current and valid registration with the RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons)
- Experience in emergency and critical care is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and independently during night shifts
- Commitment to providing excellent patient care and client service
